WHY A WHOLE HOUSE

The real difference from a hotel

Same number of people, same number of nights — a whole house still changes how the trip feels. These are the four things guests mention most.

No shared spaces

The entrance, the hallway and the bath are your group’s alone while you stay. You never pass another guest in a lift or queue at a breakfast buffet. With small children along, there is nobody to worry about disturbing.

A kitchen and a washing machine

All three houses have cookware, a rice cooker and a washing machine, and Kurokawa and Nagoya Castle II have a dryer as well. Being able to cook and do laundry means less spent on food and less to carry — and it adds up the longer you stay.

No need to split the group up

A group that would need three hotel rooms can stay under one roof. Everyone gathers in the same living room in the evening and gets ready in separate rooms in the morning. It is why three-generation trips and groups of friends choose us.

Parking is free

All three houses have free parking on the property. Hotels in central Nagoya usually charge for parking every night, so it makes a real difference if you are driving.

Up to 12

FunHome Nagoya Castle II. A two-storey 4LDK, all of it yours, 129 m². Two Japanese-style rooms and two Western-style rooms let you split up for sleeping, and there is a bathroom and a separate shower room. It is the largest of the three.

BY PURPOSE

Choose by purpose

Even among whole-house rentals, the house that suits you changes with what your trip is for.

A family trip with children

The living room and the kitchen run into each other, so you can get a meal ready from a spot where you can still see your children. There is nobody to worry about disturbing with crying at night or the sound of small feet. Warming baby food, washing up and doing the laundry are all less of a burden than in a hotel. All three houses have Japanese-style rooms, where a small child can take a tumble safely.

Sightseeing at Nagoya Castle

Nagoya Castle and Nagoya Castle II are the two houses about 10 minutes’ walk from the castle. You can set out in time for the first opening of the gates, and come back to rest partway through the day. From Kurokawa it is one subway stop — get off at Meijo-koen and you are there.

Coming to Nagoya by car

All three houses have free parking on the property. Kurokawa and Nagoya Castle II have two spaces each; Nagoya Castle has one (the second space at Nagoya Castle II is by prior arrangement). Kurokawa is three minutes from the Kurokawa exit of the Nagoya Expressway, so coming and going is easy on days when you head out to Ghibli Park, Inuyama Castle or Meiji Mura.

ACCESS

Getting there from the station

All three houses are within walking distance of a subway station. It is about 50 minutes by train from Chubu Centrair Airport, and about 20 minutes from Nagoya Station to any of them.

FunHome Kurokawa
